Ahh, it's been too long since I've gotten to play a good CTF game. I'll try to make it if you decide to have one. In my experience, any of the NB maps make for good CTF.

For those looking for the vengance/BK mapsets for mercs try www.nodachi.net/technology/view_technology.php?category=1specifically this one MAPS & TERRAINS [Mercenaries MekTek Vengeance Map Pack] [1] The MekTek Vengeance Map Converter installs and converts the Map and Terrain files from Mechwarrior4 Vengeance for use in Mercenaries. The download zip file includes the terrain converter, the map installer and a readme file. Please make sure to follow the directions EXACTLY on the README file. If you do not have a Mechwarrior4 Vengeance CD then the relevant map file downloads will be required, download links are on the readme file.

As for the CTF game I want to get going I was thinking of having people throw around some play dates and times.
Map wise NB is a great pack and there is also another map that I know works well for it. I think it's called timberline but I don't remember, it is a very large map with lots of brown textured ground and plenty of mountains. If anyone knows the name and link of where to get that map please post it.
Do not forget to post a date and time you would like to play as well. For me it would probably be best to do it next week for me.

There are some NB map downloads at hpgrealy www.freewebs.com/hpgrelay/maps.htmNo sure if these are the ones your looking for. Milo? As you all know I can really only play on my weekends and would hate to miss out on this so thats my pref. waaaa I am not going to be able to be at the "Kitchen" (WPPC Server) tonight, Ill be slaving at work. The veng and BK maps for mercs are also at hpgrelay. So my times are AUS Time Sat after say 10.30am and anytime Sundays. ***EDIT*** Sorry, I have been told that some of the maps at hpg are not working so ignore the reference to hpg for map until I get it sorted. I got most of my maps at www.mechwarriorleagues.comNavigation is a bit tricky. After registration (which is required to download) click on Ops then Map Management Console and select List All Maps. Also, if anyone is interested, there is a beta version (released July 23, 2007) of the High Definition Patch for MP3.02b. Registration is required for download and you can get it at www.mechstorm.net/modules/news/It should be the first link in the Recent Downloads category which is located just under and on the right hand side of the movie screen which features the demo for the hidef patch.

Yeah Tasha, those are the maps I was thinking of. I got the NB Full Install from the ASA DL page, it has the co-op, mission pack, map pack, and data raid/recon pack all rolled into one. If you're looking to download a specific map Cyber, the link Sav posted is pretty much the place. They've got a huge amount of maps available for single download, as well as some map packs.

THAT is exactly the site I was trying to remember that those maps came from. I remember that moon type map is pretty neat to play on, but anyways I'd say get that pack for sure if you want to play. Any ideas on who should host? I can host if need be but I think it would be better to have a dedicated server. As for dates, I think we should try for weekend to try and get Tasha in. I work every other weekend such as this upcoming so I can't do it then.

Which moon like map?
The ones that come to mind are Lunacy, Asteroid and Dwarf Star.
Dwarf Star kicks ass. I love that map.

Canyon was the map i most fondly recall as a CTF map. there are 2 raised causeways that run from each objective point to the other, and only jump capable mechs can use it, but its use is very very effective in this type of game. the best CTF games are where you have the numbers to run all 3 types of players on each side.
Anchors, who defend the teams flag. big slow mechs with lots of knockdown punch.
Seekers, who are light fast (usually unarmed ) and who steal the other teams flag
and the Mid Feild mechs who are fast and armed who cover and defend the seeker, distract those chasing him/her and if needed pick up any dropped flags
on the matter of servers enterprise has just about all the maps, but its best run live as CTF is one game where suicide is accepted and used often, so the autobot should be switched off to stop kicks.
but Canyon is the map i remember for Classic CTF

Ok lets get this show on the road......What about this weekend? come on people, lets pick the map and the time. I dont care what maps we use. We can host this on Enterprise.
So Saturday or Sunday?
What map?
What time?
Lets hear some suggestions. My pref is my Sunday any time........which is Saturday US time or there abouts.
We need to get this organized if we are going to do this this weekend.
I think we need a decent amount of players for this to be fun. Say 4 (at least) on each side.
Whos in?

I'm in... I can do Saturday (US time). Not sure what that means to you Aussies (and too lazy to look it up ). I vote the NB map pack... plenty of good CTF maps to choose from. I'm fine with whichever maps though. Chances are I'll have it, and if not, it'll prolly take a grand total of 5 minutes to download & install.
