yeah an amazing bird the cockie, i hand feed a wild troupe of them that live here, and even taught some to say "hello". now even streets away walking the dog one will recgnize me and follow me sqeaking "hello" hello".
local bush lore says never to have anything to do with them esp dont ever feed them, otherwise they fall into a trick or treat mode, ie if you stop feeding them they will tear the aerial and wipers off your car. ive seen a 30 foot tree destroyed inside an hour by a bunch of cranky cockies, literally tore it to kindling. nothing worse than looking across the lawn at 200 odd dafodils one day and not the next.
we also have the black and yellow cockatoo around here which is about 3 times the size of the white one, but not as common

Oh yes and not to mention my freeshias and ranunculas bitten off at ground level just as they spring into spring. Oh and then theres the solar lights eaten as well.
No ranunculas this spring.
But Spock I absolutely loved the show. Had me in fits of laughter for hours. Especially at the end. The little show off.
